UK Surf & Skate Expo 2025
On Sept 13th & 14th myself and my buddy Matt Rogers met up with James A Grant at the the first skate and surf expo in Newquay, which was organised by Wavelength magazine, and it was a blast! Great stalls, incredible skating at the skate park, lots of surfing, many interesting talks and presentations and the amazing appearance of the legendary Tony Alva! He skated the park and the pool. He was great to watch and at 68 it was quite incredible to see how agile he still was. He also gave a fascinating talk about his life in the Z boys, his career and his personal philosophy. We didn’t get to see much surfing but I got to see a junior comp whilst Matt and James took to the water. (Annoyingly I didn’t take my board)
